In Kyrene, we are blessed to have such a supportive and engaged community. I saw this first-hand as the co-chair for the 2021 M&O Override election. Everywhere I went, people were deeply concerned that our students and staff have the resources they needed to be successful.
I am committed to engaging and informing students, families, educators, district staff, and the broader Kyrene community on school board actions and progress. For the past three years, I have been a member of the Kyrene Superintendent Community Council which works, in collaboration with the Kyrene School District, to develop and maintain sustainable goals that align with the district’s strategic plan.
This council has a wide array of community stakeholders, providing the administration with the input needed to align community goals and district priorities. I’ve seen how suggestions and issues brought forward by this group have helped shape governing board and administrative decisions. Creating opportunities for community engagement provides a necessary level of transparency critical to a healthy district's functioning. As a governing board member, I will continue to seek out a cross-section of views to guide my decision-making.
