According to the Morrison Institute for Public Policy, public education is the second most important policy issue for Arizonans. As funding has decreased, Arizona has seen class sizes and administrative demands on teachers increase while the teacher pipeline is diminished. School districts are tasked with doing more with less and Kyrene is no exception.
A hallmark of Kyrene schools is the quality of its educators, support staff, and administrators. We have entrusted our children to their care and I stand with these dedicated professionals in asking our elected officials to fully fund our education system, including reviewing the funding formula for Special Education. As a governing board member, I will partner with district leadership to find ways to recruit, develop, place and retain highly effective teachers, administrators, and support staff that will continue to educate and nurture all our children.
